Vancouver’s newest theatre company, Sin Peaks, will be opening its first season of live improvised soap operas April 16th at The Waldorf.
The show hosts a slew of fresh young talent including director/producer Aimée Beaudoin, a three-time Canadian Comedy Award nominee (CAUTION: May Contain Nuts), Shannon Blanchet (Nevermore, Lady Fartlek), Christoff Lundgren (Continuum), and Stephen Keppler (Canadian Comedy Idol) .
The show is inspired largely by DieNasty, an improvised soap opera that has been running to sold out crowds in Edmonton for the last 25 years. DieNasty alumni includes such stars as Nathan Fillion, Mike Myers, Ronald Pederson, and Joe Flaherty. Two performers in Sin Peaks, Aimée Beaudoin and Shannon Blanchet, are DieNasty alumni.
Set in 1951, Sin Peaks is a beautiful, new resort hotel built on a volcanic island in Tahiti. The very first of its kind, Sin Peaks is struggling to open its doors with a bang, even bringing heartthrob and B-Movie star Joffrey Melons to entertain the wealthy Beverly Brothers, and other VIP guests. Romance and mystery abound as secrets about this hotel, its sleazy management, its snooty guests, and it’s tribal connections are revealed.
Doors at 8pm
Admission is $10
