Surefire Sound Tour with Addison Groove & Doc Daneeka Friday May 11

On Friday May 11, The Waldorf Presents the Surefire Sound Tour 2012 Spring Tour with Addison Groove, Doc Daneeka, Michael Red and Self Evident.

Addison Groove (50Weapons/Swamp81/Tectonic)
Live 808 / Serato hybrid set!

Back by popular demand. Vancouver loves Addison Groove. His set last year for Low Indigo was undeniably fresh and electric, satisfying both the dancefloor and the heads in the back. And things continue to move forward for AG, with his recent debut album “Transistor Rhythm” dropping to much critical acclaim.

Of course, the response to ‘Footcrab’ was phenomenal, receiving critical and commercial success in equal measure across the dance music scene. Getting plays not only from the dubstep DJs that Williams was used to reaching, it also found its way into the record boxes of techno and house heavyweights such as Aphex Twin, Surgeon, Ricardo Villalobos and Mr Scruff, bringing an enormous new audience to his music in the process. Taking influences from the Chicago ghetto tek and juke scenes, Addison Groove’s impact on UK bass music has been colossal and unprecedented, sparking a huge interest in these styles from his peers and the listening public alike.

Bookings all around Europe at the end of last year solidified Doc Daneekas energetic DJ sets as one of the most sought after performances by clubs all around the world.

Gauntlet Hair – Saturday May 5

Gauntlet Hair Saturday May 5

Sealed with a Kiss presents Gauntlet Hair on Saturday May 5. Hailing from Colorado, Gauntlet Hair is the project of Andy R. and Craig Nice, who began making music together when they were 15. The pair’s shifting, epic avant pop caused a stir in 2010 even before they released their first single, drawing favorable comparisons to Yeasayer, Animal Collective, Surfer Blood, and Passion Pit. That spring, they played the MtyMx festival in Mexico as part of a block of bands curated by Denver venue Rhinocerpolis. One of their songs, “I Was Thinking…,” was featured on a mixtape by local producer Pictureplane, increasing the buzz around Gauntlet Hair on indie rock blogs. One such blog, Gorilla vs. Bear, released the band’s debut 7″, I Was Thinking…/Our Scenery, on its Forest Family imprint as a limited edition of 500 copies in summer 2010. After several other short releases, including the Mexican Summer single Out, Don’t/Heave, Gauntlet Hair released their self-titled debut album on Dead Oceans in October 2011.
