NYE at the Waldorf Hotel featured an indoor figure skating show, choreographed by former Canadian Olympian Gary Beacom and Jenafir Chant, while Orkestra Futura, led by Coat Cooke, performed a David Lynch-inspired score.

For NYE 2012 The Waldorf Hotel threw a massive hotel-wide wide party. The event included an indoor figure skating show while a live orchestra provided a David Lynch-inspired soundtrack. The performance was choreographed by former Canadian Olympian Gary Beacom and the score was provided by Orkestra Futura, led by Coat Cooke. NYE at the Waldorf also featured a live performance by Blood Diamonds with 4AD recording artist Grimes, magicians, psychics and some of the top party DJs in the world including: Andrew Andrew Andrew, Cherchez La Femme, Genie, Lil India, Mandy-Lyn, Mr. Pablo, The Amigos and Phil Western.
On Saturday November 12, Gorilla Vs. Bear and Winnie Cooper presented a night with Keep Shelly in Athens. All the way from Athens, Greece and on their debut North American tour the band was joined by Waldorf favourite Blood Diamonds (Vancouver).

The event included top party DJs and entertainers: DJ Lady Miss Kier from Deee-lite, House of La Douche, Peter Breeze, The Fly Grrrls, The Vampire Bats, Maria in The Shower, Tyler Fedchuk , Cam Dales, Trevor Risk and so many more.
The event also featured a haunted house in our hotel rooms, a 16-Storey Drop of Doom in our parking lot, a classic carnival midway designed by some of Vancouver’s most inspiring artists, an Erotic Holographic Theatre designed by Thomas Anselmi and an age old Día de los Muertos dinner ceremony hosted by Ernesto Gomez.

Modular Records artists Cut Copy have been trotting the globe this year touring their latest album Zonoscope. On Friday October 7th after their sold out show at Vancouver’s Vogue theatre, they joined us a special DJ set in our sold-out Cabaret room. The evening also marked the one-year anniversary of Midnight City with resident DJs Zeeeea and AJK.
On Saturday September 24, The Waldorf hosted Jamcouver. This national skate jam brought 40 top pro and amateur skateboarders together to compete for cash prizes on a creative course in our parking lot.
On Saturday September 17 the Waldorf hosted another instalment of House of Grind! The night boasted an all-girl DJ line up playing dirty hip hop, sexy slow jam, booty bass and songs to make you wanna get down and grindin’. Featured DJs included Mandy-Lyn, Cherchez La Femme and Jen Kenny.
The Waldorf celebrated the end of summer with a Back to School Beach Party. The event featured surf rock, Go Go dancing bikini babes and the All-Star Waldorf House Band led by drum Legend Kurt Dahle (The New Pornographers), Ryan Dahle (Age of Electric) and Shaun Verreault (Wide Mouth Mason). They were joined onstage with numerous special guest singers performed their favourite surf rock tunes. Also that evening… DJs Mandy-Lyn, The Three Amigos, Trevor Risk and Moe & Drew from Dead Ghosts.
From Sept 9-11 (2011) The Waldorf hosted New Forms—A three day festival that explored the convergence of media art and electronic music.The festival ran throughout the entire complex including installations in the hotel rooms, electronic music artists in four performance spaces, and projections and video mapping on the facade of the building.
