Join us Thursday February 23 for The Sumner Brothers tour kickoff show with The Greff Band and The Dave Phillips Band!
The Sumner Brothers
It is The Sumner Brother’s commitment to authenticity that first drew the brothers to country, folk, roots and blues music. Finding inspiration in the style of Johnny Cash, Townes Van Zandt, and Neil Young, The Sumner Brothers have opened for such acts as Sean Hayes (San Francisco), Hillstomp (Portland), The Deep Dark Woods (Saskatoon) and have shared the stage with Vancouver heavies C.R. Avery and Rich Hope.
www.thesumnerbrothers.com
The Greff Band
The Greff Band plays roots rock, but with a grit and modernity that defies that tag. They play atmospheric rock that still rocks, hard. At once ethereal and fickle, then sweeping into powerful crescendos, the Greff Band’s music is best enjoyed live with a whisky and beer.
www.thegreffband.com
Dave Phillips Band
Dave Phillips began playing locally in his hometown of Vancouver as the guitar slinging frontman for his first group The R.A.F. While writing and recording their 2007 EP ‘514 Squadron’ Phillips was drafted to play guitar on Brian Dunn’s ‘Hash Country’ sessions with Mark Browning (Ox) at the helm. This experience was a catalyst for a dramatic shift in Phillips’ own songwriting and musical vision. Once led astray by the two Ontario cowboys, Phillips began to drift further and further into the loosely defined borders of alt-country.

Join us Thursday March 29 for the Coathangers and White Mystery!
The Coathangers
The Coathangers were a band before they were musicians. The Atlanta quartet started out as an excuse to hang out and play parties. Their jokey attitude ran deep, right down to their name—a self-admittedly crude abortion reference for an all-girl group. The whole knowing-how-to-play-an-instrument thing was just a minor hurdle in their musical mission. And to their credit, The Coathangers stormed onto the scene, regardless of the handicap, as a completely unaffected, unpretentious, deliciously sloppy, and totally infectious rock band. What they lacked in formal training they made up for in an innate understanding of how to craft a hook and propel a song forward on sheer charisma. It was impossible not to like them.

White Mystery
White Mystery is the brother/sister rock’n’roll duo from Chicago named an MTV Top Sibling Act and Best Video Premiere, Top 10 National by the Austin Chronicle, Top Ten Female Guitarist by Guitar World, this two-piece comprised of Miss Alex White and Francis Scott Key White has shared stages with Weezer, the Gories, and Mavis Staples. Look for new releases, videos, and tours to come this year here!

Join us Friday May 4 for a night of live music headlined by Ty Segall and White Fence.
Ty Segall
Burying 60s sing-alongs and dance crazes with waves of reverb and thud, Ty Segall is carving out his own brand of neo-psych garage along- side SF compatriots and collaborators Sic Alps and Thee Oh Sees. After clawing his way out of the Bay Area garage scene with a frantic one- man-band act that the local crowd and press couldn’t get enough of, Segall has now given up the solo act for a three piece that destroys sonic and melodic boundaries with manic glee.
www.ty-segall.com
White Fence
“Tim Presley is a member of the bands Darker My Love and the Strange Boys, which do variations of dirtied-up psychedelic pop. White Fence is his third band and much more idiosyncratic. It’s just Mr. Presley making songs as complicated as he wants, with his multitracked asthmatic voice and his gift for weird, wayward song hooks.” —The New York Times
