The Shadow Line 80′s Goth Night – Thursday February 23

The Shadow Line 80s Goth Night Thursday February 23

The Shadow Line Gang are back! Virginia Frazer, Laure Elaine, Marc and Chris from The Vampire Bats and artist, Ronan Boyle transform the Waldorf Hideaway room into a glorious Gothic Wonderland! An evening of dark Post-Punk gems and 80′s Goth Classics make up the most authentically subterranean soundtrack to BLAST OFF since the Bat Cave first rattled our cages all those years ago. The Shadow Line endeavours to meticulously recapture the atmosphere and detail of the 80′s underground subculture, so that the dark romantic trapped in us all may be free to bloom… in other words we get drunk and dance around to Alien Sex Fiend. Release the Bats!

Doors at 9pm
Admission is $8

Wow, it’s about fucking time. Deathrock in Vancouver? Unheard of. Until now.

No, it’s happened a few times before actually.  A few people have tried to start a regular or semi-regular thing over the years but it’s always of course had to be on a weeknight and the attendance was just never there, or dropped off radically after the first few weeks.  But for sure 99% of the time there’s nothing like this going.  This looks nicely put together though, and the Waldorf is a great spot for it.  If it can stick, it’ll be a very welcome to our clubbing landscape in Van!  Go Shadowliners!!

A few failed attempts, that were under the radar after no more Radioactive, and Decades, which are nights my mind can only recoil. It was unheard of for many years. Yes, it’s not so popular, but lately it seems on demand a bit more. Yet gothic rock and Deathrock are different.

And the Shadow Line night was well put together, and a lot of fun.
