Negative Nights, CITR, and Sweet Rot Records present four sweet Rot bands from three countries at one show! Hailing from Strasbourg, France, The Feeling of Love have recently released their “Dissolve Me” LP on Kill Shaman Records following 2 earlier LPs and a string of singles. Oakland’s Meercaz are the brainchild of Muslim Delgado and their brand of 70s proto-punk landed their first album on the legendary Gulcher Records (home of the motherfucking Gizmos among many others). Little Queenie, also from Oakland, are Sweet Rot’s newest signing and are a 2 bass/no guitar thug-punk juggernaut. They’ll be joined by local favourite Sex Church and DJs Bryce Dunn and Justin Gradin.

The Waldorf and Vancouver’s Very Own Present a massive multiroom party with some of the hottest names in dance musc.
Lazer Sword (Low Limit + Lando Kal)
Lando Kal and Low Limit made a name for themselves on their vivid live shows and bass-heavy bootlegs, before releasing the six-track Golden Handshake EP on Numbers earlier this year. Their music, which is rooted in rap but also takes in 8-bit, Daft Punk, Jimmy Edgar and more, has been described as everything from “electro crunk” to “future blap”, but we’d rather just consider it a modern, wide-reaching take on hip-hop.

Salva
Paul Salva has been on quite a tear as of late. In February 2011, the Frite Nite label head released his ‘Complex Housing’ LP on the Friends of Friends label to rave reviews (Resident Advisor, Pitchfork, FACT, XLR8R all recommended) and has quickly become one of electronic music’s most exciting and diverse producers.

Nguzunguzu
From house-inflected UK bass to kuduro to hi-tech reggaeton to Chicago juke to leftfield grime to zouk to cumbia, the Los Angeles based duo Nguzunguzu take a grab bag of worldly sounds and re-imagine them into the familiar framework of a contemporary R&B and hip-hop. Creating something much greater than the sum of its parts, Nguzunguzu makes futuristic global club music made to bump in Jeeps, knock out on world-class sound systems, and transmit into the unknown.
With local favourites Expendable Youth and Eames.

Meet a member of the Waldorf’s team. Julia works the coat check and is the Troupe Leader of the Babylon Go Go Dancers. You can see hier this Friday at Babylon and you can enjoy dinner with her and some of the other dancers if you win our dirty joke contest
Hello my name is…
Julia Mauro.
At the Waldorf I…
take people’s coats and give them little yellow tickets in return. Also, I’ve been dusting off my 60s dance moves and getting all the Go Go Goddesses lined up for the new upcoming Friday party, Babylon.
When I’m not at the Waldorf I am…
doing a Theatre major/ Art & Culture Studies minor at SFU’s School for the Contemporary Arts in Gastown, and constantly rehearsing burlettas to perform as the cabaret kid, Ava Lure, And doing additional singin’ and dancin’ lessons. *jazz hands*
My favourite thing about Vancouver is…
cute boys from East Van. Home is where the heart is!
My favourite thing to do with an out-of-town guest is…
brunch dates or fancy beer drinking.
My favourite store in Vancouver is…
I’m torn between Deluxe Junk and the Community Frock Shoppe… it’s very very difficult to keep myself from impulsively buying silks and gems and stockings between classes.
When I’m eating at the Waldorf I order…
the Palmito salad. I’d never tried palm before until I had it and love the Portuguese bun.
If you’re buying drinks, I’ll have…
The Journalist. It’s nice and boozy.
